I am so excited to finally be able to reveal the chicken coop the hubby & I have worked so hard on!! We built it ourselves using Woodshop Mike’s plans here. They were great plans that I would definitely recommend. We’ve never built anything before, so this was a huge learning curve for us!
I’ve gotten really into woodworking projects lately, it’s become my new hobby during quarantine! There is something so satisfying about building and finishing a project yourself, from scratch.

With all the extra time we’ve had lately to spend on the back deck, I’ve been itching to get it feeling a little fresher. The deck was built before we moved in, but was never sealed or stained, so it quickly wore down to a yucky grey color of unstained wood!

Spring has sprung here in Virginia, and with the stay at home orders in most states, more and more people are picking up their gardening tools and sinking their hands into the soil. Gardening is something I’ve always romanticized in my mind, and as of late, I’ve wanted a garden more than anything!
Well…I finally went through with it! JC & I got ourselves 6 baby chicks last weekend! They are Rhode Island Reds and are from a local farm. When I was growing up my mom had chickens she hatched from eggs and I have really fond memories of helping take care of and hanging out with the chickens!
Amidst the growing health concerns surrounding COVID-19, many, including myself, are choosing to practice “social distancing”, and/or self quarantine to prevent the spread of the virus. This is honestly a really wild time in our history.
